Robert K. Carrol and Morgan Forsey Named 2024 ‘Top Labor & Employment Attorneys’ by Daily Journal

ArentFox Schiff is pleased to announce that Partners Rob Carrol and Morgan Forsey have been named among the 2024 “Top Labor & Employment Attorneys in California” by Daily Journal, the state’s premier legal publication.

Rob is a veteran labor and employment litigator, with an emphasis on traditional labor law, wage/hour class action, PAGA, agricultural labor, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination matters. His clients range from Silicon Valley startups to Fortune 200 companies, including many in the food and beverage, manufacturing, solid waste disposal, agriculture, insurance, and hospitality sectors.

As Rob told Daily Journal, he especially enjoys “leveraging the skills of his AFS partners in all sorts of substantive areas” to resolve issues for firm clients that arise outside of labor and employment, such as the dismissal of a national product liability class action achieved recently by his AFS partners for Breville Group, a global leader in kitchen and cooking appliances, whom Rob and his team are also currently defending in wage/hour class action and PAGA cases.

Rob has previously been named a “Top Lawyer” by Daily Journal in 2023, 2021, and 2020.

Morgan is a seasoned employment litigator and trial lawyer. She regularly defends employers in wage-and-hour class actions, PAGA cases, and matters before governmental agencies such as the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, Central Registration Depository, and US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She also defends and assists employers in navigating regulatory audits by the US Departments of Labor, Justice, and local enforcement agencies.

Morgan devotes much of her practice to keeping her clients ahead of the curve by finding practical ways to integrate cutting edge legal issues into workplace operations and culture. Even before the recent amendments to the California PAGA, “[W]e have advocated for years that employers have strong written policies and take all reasonable steps to conform to the wage and hour rules,” said Morgan during a recent interview with the Daily Journal.

Before law, Morgan was a stage actress. Like theater, Morgan has found that law is more than what is on the page; it is understanding the context and the client’s desired outcome that brings it to life. “Law is a creative process, too,” she told Daily Journal. “Acting involves listening and reacting. What works best in the courtroom is coming back to challenges with an educated response.”

ArentFox Schiff’s Labor, Employment & OSHA practice is recognized as one of the premier labor and employment practices in the country. Chambers USA, the leading attorney-ranking publication, has described the attorneys in this group as “thoughtful, responsive, creative, and diligent.”
