ArentFox Schiff Wins Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year from M&A Advisor
The firm was recognized for its work as counsel to CoverFX, a high performance, vegan, and cruelty-free cosmetics company based in the United States and Canada. ArentFox Schiff assisted CoverFX with a complex multi-stage restructuring process, which involved the sale of the company’s brand, e-commerce platform, and inventory, followed by the commencement of joint restructuring proceedings for the United States and Canadian operating entities under Subchapter V of Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. ArentFox Schiff negotiated a chapter 11 plan with full creditor support addressing secured, unsecured, and intercompany liabilities and ensured a threshold distribution for general unsecured creditors.
Partners George Angelich and Justin Kesselman, and Associate Patrick Feeney served as counsel.
The Turnaround Award nominees come from more than 250 participating companies and were judged by an independent panel of industry experts. The M&A Advisor CEO Roger Aguinaldo said, “The award winners represent the best of the distressed investing and restructuring industry in 2021 and earned these honors by standing out in a group of very impressive candidates.”
The awards will be presented at a Black-Tie Awards Gala on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, in New York City.
