Ketcham Quoted on Federal Vaccination Mandate for Large Employers
The Business Journals
Partner Paula Ketcham was quoted on President Biden’s new rules requiring employers with more than 100 employees to mandate vaccinations or testing alternatives.
“Employers that have already implemented a vaccine requirement probably have also already developed and implemented a protocol for processing disability and religious accommodation requests from employees who refuse to be vaccinated – and if not, they probably should have,” Paula said. “Other affected employers – those with more than 100 employees who have not implemented a vaccine requirement – will want to get started planning for how they will process and respond to accommodation requests.”
On possible exemptions, she added that the rule will almost certainly require employers to accommodate workers who refuse to be vaccinated based on a medical condition, disability, or religious belief.
