Joshi Quoted on Illinois Law Prohibiting PFAS
Partner Bina Joshi was quoted on the proposed rule from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency setting groundwater standards for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
Bina said that the proposal would establish stricter limits than current federal advisories for two PFAS chemicals and could impact hundreds of property owners in Illinois.

Bina said that industries possibly affected include food packaging, household products, clothing and textiles, cosmetics, paint and sealant, and waste disposal or landfills. She added that properties where the firefighting foams containing PFAS have been stored or used would also be impacted.
