Ford wants to make changes to dealerships: What it has learned from customers
In response to customer insight about car buying habits, Ford has just unveiled new plans that will change what people expect from car ownership.
The 119-year-old automaker has seen customers shift dramatically to purchasing cars online during the COVID-19 pandemic, going from just 6% to now more than 50% of Ford vehicles sold over the past year, Ford CEO Jim Farley told reporters Tuesday.
This shift in customer behavior has transformed how the automaker plans to move forward, and what customers can expect when shopping for cars, needing repairs and wanting special services such as pickup and delivery and onsite repair at homes and offices.
