Fred Weber will lead a breakout session at the Emerging Philanthropy Conference hosted by the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council and the Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 27, 2024.
In his presentation, titled “Fiduciary Options for Administration of Charitable Estates and Trusts,” Fred will review strategies for advising donors and their advisors about the pros and cons of various fiduciary options for post-death administration of estates and trusts that include charitable gifts. Fred will also share tips for demystifying the post-death administration process for gift planners, donors, and their advisors that are designed to help them to make thoughtful and informed decisions aimed at easing the burden and the cost of post-death administration for their families and their beneficiaries.
Attendees at this session will learn some practical tips, tricks, and suggestions for engaging in meaningful conversations about fiduciary choices with their donors. The goal is to deepen the relationships with donors and elevate the gift planner’s status as a trusted advisor. The session is also designed to increase understanding of the fiduciary’s role in delivering legacy gifts after a donor’s death, with an emphasis on why selecting the right fiduciary before death is one of the most crucial decisions a donor can make.
