Arent Fox Complex Litigation Partner Jenny Lee will be speaking on the panel, “Examining the Latest Activity of the CFPB, Coordination Amongst the Different Federal Agencies and What to Expect from Federal Enforcement Going Forward,” as part of the American Conference Institute’s 31st National Forum on Consumer Finance Class Actions and Government Enforcement in Chicago, Illinois on July 23-24.
The panel will discuss the latest enforcement actions by the CFPB and other federal agencies in the consumer financial services industry and inform on what trends can be seen and how the new CFPB is handling restitutions. The panelists will examine how the CFPB’s newly appointed director Kathleen Kraninger will prioritize the agency and dive into what can be expected from federal enforcement actions, examinations, and investigations going forward. The discussion will also cover the rollback of the Payday Lending Rule, new rules for the Military Lending Act, and assess the status of the CFPB’s rules concerning debt collection, overdraft practices, and small business lending.
