Schiff Hardin LLP is pleased to announce it has joined the Japan America Society of Michigan and Southwestern Ontario, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the ties of friendship between the Japanese, American, and Canadian people in the Greater Detroit and Windsor area. The Society, which includes many well-known businesses and professional firms, is part of a network of 38 Japan-America Societies established throughout the United States representing more than 25,000 people.

“We look forward to engaging with and contributing to the vibrant community of leaders and businesses involved with the Japan America Society,” said Gene Magidenko, a tax attorney advising clients on transactional tax matters, tax controversies, and tax compliance, who leads Schiff’s involvement. “We have many clients and friends in Japan who do business in the United States, and belonging to the Society is an important way to strengthen those relationships.”

Schiff Hardin has seven offices, including in Ann Arbor, with attorneys serving clients nationwide in litigation, corporate, finance, tax, and antitrust matters.

“We welcome Schiff Hardin, a fine law firm that serves Japanese clients here and abroad, to the Japan America Society, and are thrilled the firm chose to join our community,” said Liseann Gouin, president of the Society.
