Debra Albin-Riley and Lowell Brown Ranked Among Daily Journal’s 2023 “Top Health Care Attorneys in California”

Debra was previously recognized by Daily Journal as a “Top Health Care Lawyer” in 2022, 2021, and 2020, and was named a “Top Woman Lawyer” in 2015 and 2014. Lowell was previously recognized in 2021.

Debra has a reputation as a tenacious health care litigator and successfully argued and prevailed before the California Supreme Court to establish significant anti-SLAPP protections for medical staff in peer review matters. In addition to leadership positions with the firm, she also chairs the Board of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles (LFLA), and previously served as LFLA’s Governance Committee Chair and a member of the Board’s Executive Committee. Debra has also been recognized by Chambers USA and Legal 500 and was listed as a Lawdragon Magazine “Top 500 Leading Litigation Lawyers.”

Lowell is widely recognized as one of California’s pre-eminent medical staff lawyers and is a regular presence in the California Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal, where he handles complex and precedent-setting peer review cases. Lowell serves as counsel to the California Hospital Association and represents more than 400 state hospitals in legislative and policy affairs. Lowell is a member of the Board of Trustees of the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah and the Venice Family Clinic board of directors. He has been continuously selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®, Legal 500, and has been rated as one of the top health care attorneys by Chambers USA.
