ArentFox Schiff Receives Mansfield Certification for Fourth Year
To achieve 5.0 Certified status, the firm had to consider at least 30% women lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, and underrepresented racial and/or ethnic lawyers for senior lateral attorney job openings, firm governance opportunities, equity partner promotions, and firm leadership positions.
“Each year, DiversityLab raises the bar with the Mansfield certification requirements. In turn, it pushes us to proactively evaluate our internal processes with a critical eye and continue to elevate our firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. As we look to the future, we know that we must reaffirm our dedication to innovative programs, like the Mansfield Rule, that call for systemic and cultural change to build a more inclusive and just profession.”
- Alison Bygrave, Director of Diversity & Inclusion
ArentFox Schiff is participating in the Mansfield Rule 6.0 program, which has added new requirements for achieving certification.
Named for Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to practice law in the United States, the Mansfield Rule was conceived through the Diversity Lab’s 2016 Women in Law Hackathon. This national competition brought in-house and private practice lawyers together to brainstorm solutions to law firm diversity challenges.
