ArentFox Schiff Achieves Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Certification Plus in 2024
ArentFox Schiff is pleased to announce that the firm has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus for 2023-2024, underscoring the firm’s dedication to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the legal profession.
Mansfield Certification measures the structural changes made to ensure a broad pool of talent — including historically underrepresented groups such as women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities — is considered for leadership roles and career advancement opportunities. This includes lateral hiring, client pitch teams, promotions, appointments, and more. The “Plus” designation indicates that in addition to the steps taken to increase inclusivity in leadership, the firm voluntarily provided data to Diversity Lab to show our progress.
“Each year, Diversity Lab raises the bar for Mansfield Rule certification, encouraging firms to diversify talent and foster transparency. ArentFox Schiff is proud of our long-standing partnership with Diversity Lab and honored to have achieved Mansfield Certification Plus. This reflects our commitment to DEI and motivates us to continue advocating for systemic change in our profession.”— Alison Bygrave, Director of Diversity & Inclusion
A long-standing participant in the Mansfield Rule, the firm is also currently participating in the next certification cycle, Mansfield 2024-2025.
Named for Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to practice law in the United States, the Mansfield Rule was conceived through the Diversity Lab’s 2016 Women in Law Hackathon. This national competition brought in-house and private practice lawyers together to brainstorm solutions to law firm diversity challenges.
At ArentFox Schiff, we believe that excellence and diversity go hand in hand. Diversity produces different perspectives, richer thinking, and more creative solutions to the challenges our clients face. Our firm is committed to intentionally building an environment where everyone feels welcome, while recruiting and retaining a diverse group of attorneys and staff.
