ArentFox Schiff Achieved Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Certification Plus for 2022-2023
ArentFox Schiff is pleased to announce the firm has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus, affirming the firm’s commitment to supporting and increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession.
Mansfield Certification Plus measures the structural changes made to ensure the firm is considering a broad pool of talent – including historically underrepresented groups such as women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities – for leadership roles and career advancement opportunities, including lateral hiring, client pitch teams, promotions, appointments, and more. The “Plus” designation indicates that in addition to the steps taken to increase inclusivity in leadership, the firm made measured progress in doing so. Only half of the certified firms achieved this honor this year.
“Each year, Diversity Lab raises the bar for Mansfield Rule certification, inspiring firms to broaden their talent pools and implement transparent processes. ArentFox Schiff is proud of our longstanding partnership with Diversity Lab and honored to have achieved Mansfield Certification Plus.”
— Alison Bygrave, Director of Diversity & Inclusion
A long-standing participant in the Mansfield Rule, the firm is also currently participating in the next certification cycle, Mansfield 2023-2024.
Named for Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to practice law in the United States, the Mansfield Rule was conceived through the Diversity Lab’s 2016 Women in Law Hackathon. This national competition brought in-house and private practice lawyers together to brainstorm solutions to law firm diversity challenges.
