Arent Fox’s Marc Rauch Appointed By NYC Mayor Bloomberg To United Nations Development Corporation

NEW YORK CITY Arent Fox LLP is proud to announce that New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has appointed partner and senior real estate attorney Marc Rauch to serve on the board of directors of the United Nations Development Corporation (UNDC).

“I am honored that Mayor Bloomberg has appointed me to the United Nations Development Corporation,” said Mr. Rauch. “UNDC facilitates the good work of the United Nations by developing offices, residences and other facilities for UN personnel and UN-related organizations, such as UNICEF. Its efforts have fostered the commercial and residential revitalization of the area surrounding the UN Headquarters and have helped secure the long-term presence of the UN Headquarters in New York.”

The United Nations Development Corporation, which was created in 1968 by the New York State Legislature, is a public benefit corporation charged with responsibility to assist the United Nations community with its office, residential and other real estate needs. Since its inception, UNDC has developed and operated approximately 1.8 million square feet of mixed-used facilities.

UNDC is governed by a fifteen member board of directors of which eight members are appointed by the governor of the State of New York, and seven are appointed by the mayor of the City of New York. The Chair of the New York City Planning Commission and the Commissioner of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development serve as ex-officio members.
