Washington, DC — Arent Fox LLP represented Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits in its acquisition of the award-winning Redemption Whiskey portfolio from Bardstown Barrel Selections, Inc. Corporate & Securities partner Jay L. Halpern and associate Amal U. Dave led an Alcohol Beverage team from Arent Fox that advised Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits on the corporate, tax, intellectual property, and labor and employment aspects of the deal that closed in early June, 2015.
Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits’ new whiskey portfolio includes the Redemption Straight Rye Whiskey, Redemption High Rye Bourbon, Redemption Bourbon, Riverboat Rye, White Whiskey and Limited Edition Barrel Selections. Redemption Whiskey, which was founded six years ago, has consistently earned accolades from prestigious competitions, including receiving Double Gold medals in the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Redemption Whiskey is distilled at the Lawrenceburg Distillers in Indiana and bottled in small batches in Bardstown, Kentucky.
