Who Will Acquire the Naming Rights to University of Louisville Cardinal Stadium?

Arent Fox Sports Practice Group Leader Rich Brand was quoted in the Louisville Courier Journal on the forthcoming naming rights deal for the University of Louisville Cardinal Stadium.

The University severed ties with Papa John’s after the pizza chain’s founder John Schnatter used a racial slur during a conference call. Papa John’s began its relationship with the stadium in 1996.  

“Louisville is likely going to be a local play,” said Rich, meaning that a company that wants to reach potential customers in Louisville and elevate its name regionally, if not nationally, will likely step in. Rich added that in the case of colleges, an alumni link is also possible.
