Senator Dorgan Testifies before the Senate Commerce Committee on Air Traffic Control

On Tuesday, May 19, Arent Fox Senior Policy Advisor Senator Dorgan testified before the Senate Commerce Committee about upgrading the American Air Traffic Control (ATC) system.

He was one of six witnesses for the hearing titled “FAA Reauthorization: Air Traffic Control Modernization and Reform.” The FAA, or Federal Aviation Administration, reauthorization is due this September.

Senator Dorgan testified on the FAA’s efforts to modernize the ATC system, focusing his testimony on the Eno Center for Transportation’s NextGen Working Group’s Statement of Principles for ATC reform per the request of Committee Chairman Senator Thune. Senator Dorgan co-chairs the NextGen Working Group, a two-year collaboration between key stakeholders, former policymakers, and academics to examine and propose reform for the FAA’s governance structure and accelerate the Next Generation Air Transportation System.
