Senator Byron Dorgan Comments on Early Days of Trump Administration on Fox Business News
Former Senator and Arent Fox Senior Policy Advisor Byron Dorgan (D-ND) spoke with Fox Business News along with former Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) on whether President Trump is on the right track in the early days of his Administration.
Gregg was not a supporter of Trump during the campaign, but notes that markets have been strong and a better prognosticator than the polls and pundits. When asked about the business-focused theme of Trump’s message, Dorgan said that President Trump is “right to talk about trade issues and focus on jobs.” He notes that there are more difficult areas ahead, including fixing rather than repealing the Affordable Care Act, replacing Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court, and addressing the need for tax reform in a responsible way. Gregg agreed that tax reform and health care should be the core issues President Trump focuses on next.
