New USPTO Post May Help Keep PTAB, Examiners On Same Page
On August 17, New York partner and chairperson of the USPTO’s Patent Public Advisory Committee Marylee Jenkins was quoted in an Law360 article about the new role for the current Chief Judge of the USPTO’s Patent Trial Appeal Board, David Ruschke.
After two years of leading the PTAB, Mr. Ruschke is stepping down to take the position of senior advisor to patents. As part of his new role, Mr. Ruschke will be coordinating the relationship between the PTAB and patent examiners to ensure both sides of the patent office reach consistent results.
In regards to Mr. Ruschke’s new role, Marylee said, “having a point person tasked with ensuring that there is consistency across the agency is a great idea. Mr. Ruschke has worked very hard to move the PTAB forward, and I certainly appreciate all of his efforts to help the stakeholder community better understand the operation of the PTAB.”
