Lupo Discusses Opening of the Firm’s Metaverse Office

ArentFox Schiff Chairman Anthony V. Lupo was featured in a Q&A about the firm’s Metaverse office opening.

First reported by The American Lawyer, the firm’s new office located in the Luxury Fashion District of Decentraland makes ArentFox Schiff the first major US law firm to build and launch an office in the virtual world.

Tony discussed why the firm decided now was the right time to open an office in the Metaverse.

“[We] have a lot of clients that are cutting edge,” Tony said. “PwC hired us to go in and help them enter the Metaverse, and a light bulb went on. I’m like, ‘Something else is happening here.’ So we immediately decided that we were going to move in.”

Tony noted that the process of buying and building property in the Metaverse involves many unknowns and is not “user-friendly.”

“One of the reasons we wanted to do this was to have gone through the process ourselves so we could help guide clients through the process,” he said.

With the office now open, Tony said this move “demonstrates credibility” of the firm in this space, and clients are beginning to request holding meetings in it.
