Jon Bouker Discusses Regulatory Outlook in a Trump Administration in The National Law Journal
Arent Fox partner and Government Relations practice group leader Jon Bouker participated in a discussion with a group of political observers.
The group included Beth Frerking, editor-in-chief of The National Law Journal; Lisa Helem, managing editor of The National Law Journal; Linda Kelly, senior vice president and general counsel of the National Association of Manufacturers; and Anthony Pierce, partner at Akin Gump. The group deliberated at length the effects that a Trump presidency would likely have on the regulatory landscape, citing how a restricted trade policy would negatively impact the manufacturing industry in particular. All were in agreement that given the unpredictability of Trump’s campaign and election, it is currently very difficult to vet how Trump’s Cabinet and agency directorships will impact federal regulatory policy. “I think first and foremost what was fascinating to me about election night was how wrong political Washington, official political Washington, got the election,” said Jon.
