Ghosn Rearrested; Kelly Freed on Bail
Carlos Ghosn, the embattled former Nissan Chairman, was arrested for a third time by Japanese prosecutors on December 21.
He now faces an aggravated breach of trust charge. Authorities contend Ghosn, already facing other financial misconduct allegations, used company funds to make payments to a Saudi businessman in a scheme to shift personal investment losses to Nissan.
In a related story, Greg Kelly, the Nissan executive who was arrested with Ghosn on November 19, was freed on bail overnight by Japanese authorities. He was being held on allegations of corruption. Both men face up to ten years in prison if convicted.
