PCPC’s 2019 Legal & Regulatory Conference

The event, hosted May 1 – 3, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas, featured panels on various aspects of the cosmetics industry including state and federal regulation, advertising, and brand protection. Tony’s panel was titled “Advertising, E-Commerce and Brand Registry” and he spoke alongside representatives from Amazon and Alexander Wang. The panel discussed “legal issues related to offering sales and discounts on pricing, Truth in Advertising, negation option subscription programs, photo editing, and potential issues with using influencers.” The panel also discussed the growth of Asian markets and brand protection when the name of a brand is the name of the founder in addition to Amazon’s Brand Registry and the benefits it provides to brands.
