Health Care Counsel Gayland Hethcoat will lead a session on California’s Data Exchange Framework (DxF) at the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys’ (CSHA) 2024 Fall Seminar in Sacramento, California, on November 15, 2024.

Gayland will be joined by Kristen Comer, Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Health Gorilla, Inc., as they share a presentation titled “Sharing Health Information Through California’s Data Exchange Framework: Implementation Issues and Practical Considerations.” Gayland and Kristen will provide an overview of the DxF and its implementation, along with key issues of concern to participant organizations, including hospitals, medical groups, health plans, and other entities. Their presentation will equip attendees with essential insights to determine whether their organizations currently are or will become mandatory participants, as well as an outline of the obligations of participants, and the legal and compliance challenges they must navigate.
