Scott handles a wide range of transactional matters for clients in the sports, technology, and beverage and food industries. In addition to his client work, Scott provides pro bono legal services to small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs in the Washington, DC, area.
Client Work
Scott has a passion for clients in the sports industry. He has worked with professional sports leagues, teams, ownership groups, and investors on a wide range of transactions, including:
- Representing a major women’s professional soccer league with respect to expansion matters, team sales, and general corporate governance matters;
- Representing MLB, MLS, and MiLB teams in connection with revenue generation transactions, including naming rights agreements, founding partner agreements, and other sponsorship transactions; and
- Representing investors and ownership groups in connection with the acquisition and sale of interests in professional sports franchises.
In addition, Scott has experience representing clients in technology transactions, including software-as-a-service (“SaaS”) agreements, software license agreements, professional services agreements, and software and website development agreements. Scott also has experience assisting with the intellectual property aspects of strategic corporate transactions, including conducting intellectual property due diligence and drafting transaction documents effectuating the transfer and commercialization of intellectual property assets.
Scott’s experience also includes assisting clients in the beverage and food industry with commercial agreements, including supply and manufacturing agreements, transportation logistics agreements, and consulting agreements.
Previous Work
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Scott worked as a Law Clerk at a boutique firm in Washington, DC that specializes in affordable housing transactions and served in multiple roles in the Office of General Counsel at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development while attending law school at night.
