Scott handles a wide range of transactional matters for clients in the sports, technology, and beverage and food industries. In addition to his client work, Scott provides pro bono legal services to small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs in the Washington, DC, area.
Client Work
Scott has a passion for clients in the sports industry. He has worked with ownership groups, leagues, and investors on a wide range of transactional matters. Representative matters include:
- Representing a major women’s professional soccer league with respect to expansion matters and team sales;
- Representing MLB, MiLB, and MLS teams in connection with naming rights agreements, founding partner agreements, and other sponsorship agreements; and
- Representing investors and ownership groups in connection with the acquisition and sale of professional sports franchises.
Scott also has experience representing clients in the technology and beverage and food industries. He has experience handling a variety of commercial and technology agreements, including professional services agreements, licensing and subscription agreements, software development agreements, and outsourcing agreements. He has also assisted clients with strategic transactions (including M&A deals, debt/equity financings, and joint ventures), securities law compliance, and general corporate governance matters.
Previous Work
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Scott worked as a Law Clerk at a boutique firm in Washington, DC that specializes in affordable housing transactions and served in multiple roles in the Office of General Counsel at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development while attending law school at night.
